On the first Sunday in October, Bob announced his resignation as our pulpit minister effective December 31, 2008. At that time the elders began making plans for a transition to a new minister. In November a search committee/transition team was announced. As part of the transition Charles Sibert was asked to visit with our congregation and provide us assistance during this time of change. A dinner honoring Bob and Rosemary will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 5:00 pm in the fellowship hall.
The search committee had its first meeting on January 4, 2009 to begin the transition to a new pulpit minister. At this time the committee is preparing a membership profile survey to gather demographic information about our membership. This survey should be ready to distribute by the first of February. This will be followed by a congregation inventory in which we will gather information about the perceived needs of our congregation. Once these surveys are completed, the committee will develop a staffing need for our congregation and a profile of the type of pulpit minister that will meet our needs. We will then begin our search for our next minister. A tentative timetable for the search process was distributed at the congregation meeting on January 11, 2009. Please keep the search committee and the elders in your prayers as we journey through this time of opportunity.
